Coastal Eyewear

Redirect to new blog You are being redirected to the new blog.

When I was ten, I got the privilege of discovering that I was near-sighted. I have worn corrective lenses ever since. For thirty years now I have worn glasses and contact lenses. Many of my friends have chosen to get laser eye surgery. This was not an option for me; not only can I not afford it, but I am too much of a wuss to have unnecessary surgery. Therefore, glasses it is.
I am fortunate that my health insurance covers an eye exam and lenses each year. Unfortunately, I always have to choose between glasses or contact lenses. So, for the past seven years I have chosen the contacts. I have had the same pair of glasses since. Needless to say, it was time for a new pair. When I discovered that Coastal lets you get the first pair of glasses free, I did a little dance. (I did have to pay for shipping.)

Last night I wore my new glasses to my friend's house. Her whole family wears glasses. They all saw my glasses and loved them. The two teenage girls wanted to know immediately if designer frames were an option. Why, yes they are. My friend was so happy to hear about this, because their insurance doesn't cover glasses and she has been paying out of pocket.
Should you decide that you would like to take advantage of this deal, you will need to prepare three things. First, you will need to have your eye prescription. I just called my eye doctor and asked for it and they faxed it right over. Next, you will need the numbers that are inside your current frames so that you get the right size. Finally, you will need to print a special eye ruler off of their website to measure the distance between your pupils.
If you are not sure which pair you would like, you can upload a photo of yourself and "try on" different pairs. (That's how I picked mine.) If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, they will send you a return shipping label and offer you either a refund or exchange.
I also need to point out that this company does great things. Did you know that for every pair of glasses they sell, they donate an additional pair to someone in need. Their goal is to donate over 2 million pairs by the year 2020. Love that!

In order to take advantage of this offer. Go to Coastal and pick out your glasses. Use the code "firstpairfree".

  3. I am trying to use the coupon code and it says that it cannot be applied. Is this only on the frames and not on lenses?
