Birthday Parties

It has been a while since I have posted. And this is the reason why: a major children's birthday party. I go all out. I am one crazy mama when it comes to planning a party.
I have three kids, but I only do one party a year. We have found that we always invite the same people as we have many family friends. We also decided that one awesome party was better than three sub-par ones. And so far, my kids agree. Plus, we just can't afford to have three parties a year.
Last year we had a superhero training academy. This year, we had a Harry Potter themed party. I have the kids circulate to different activity tables. The activities vary from crafts to science experiments to games.
I do a lot of research to plan these parties. Here are some of my favorite websites. Feel free to comment about your favorite sites. The more resources the better!
  • http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/ has so many ideas it's unbelievable! You can find just about any theme you want. Many people post their ideas on this site. The only drawback is that it doesn't  have pictures. I am very visual, so that is hard for me.
  • "Birthday in a Box has developed free party planning guides to help you plan the perfect themed party. In these guides, you will find free ideas for do-it-yourself invitations, games, crafts, recipes, and more! Simply choose your theme to get started."
  • Tip Junkie has a printable party planning worksheet that will "make sure you don’t forget any of the details for your next big bash.  From keeping track of the guest list to creating a shopping list for your menu, it is all here in one printable planner."
  • "Kara’s Party Ideas dot com is a huge online resource for thousands of party ideas. Its purpose is to inspire those who are planning parties around the world. On a daily basis, Kara showcases her favorites of the hundreds of party submissions she receives each month. In addition to featuring her own events, Kara shares these parties styled by others to increase the number of creative ideas available on KPI… plus, let’s face it, some of the party submissions are just too amazing NOT to share!".
  • "The Best Birthday.com is your headquarters for free children's birthday party theme ideas, as well as crafts, games, activities, and recipes too. Here you will also find links to great stores where you can buy party supplies without busting your budget."
